Method
- Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain.
- Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Whisk in flour until smooth.
- Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
- Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in salt and pepper.
- Add Velveeta cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
- Add cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir to coat.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use whole milk or add a pinch of nutmeg to the cheese sauce.
