  • 1 pound pasta (penne, rotini, or your favorite)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional: Breadcrumbs for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain well.
  3. Combine pasta, chicken, soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Stir in 1 1/2 cups cheddar and 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese.
  5. Pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. Top with remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Optional: Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the cheese.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use a combination of sharp cheddar and Gruyere cheese.
