  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup nestlé toll house cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1.5 tsp baking soda
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (for ganache)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch pans.
  2. Whisk flour, cocoa, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix in buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in boiling water until smooth.
  3. Divide batter into pans and bake for 30–35 minutes. Cool completely.
  4. Melt chocolate chips with heavy cream to make ganache. Pour over cooled layers.

Notes

Ensure the cake is completely cooled before applying ganache for best results.
