Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
- Mash bananas, add applesauce, honey/maple syrup, egg, and vanilla. Mix well.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chopped nuts (if using).
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter.
