Ingredients

  • 1 cup white whole wheat flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
wet ingredients
  • 1 medium ripe banana about 3 ounces
  • 0.33 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 0.25 cup milk whole preferred
  • 0.25 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
frosting and topping
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 0.25 cup water

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pans with butter and whole wheat flour.
  2. Mix dry ingredients in one bowl and wet ingredients in another, then combine.
  3. Pour batter into pans and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
  4. Let cakes cool, then prepare whipped cream with blueberries and water for topping.
  5. Assemble and decorate the smash cake before serving.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for natural sweetness and consider adding a touch of honey for extra flavor.
