Ingredients
  

Bread
  • 1 loaf day-old bread, cubed
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • to taste salt and pepper salt and pepper
  • 0.5 cup chopped fresh parsley

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a skillet, sauté onion and celery until soft.
  3. Add garlic and herbs, cook for 1 minute. Mix with bread cubes.
  4. Gradually add chicken broth, season, and fold in parsley. Transfer to baking dish.
  5. Cover with foil, bake 30 mins, then uncover and bake 15-20 mins until crispy.

Notes

For extra flavor, add sautéed mushrooms or sausage.
