Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch pan.
- Cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in orange juice, zest, and vanilla.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Pour batter into pan and smooth top. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack. Serve as is or dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a splash of orange liqueur to the batter.
