Ingredients
  

Dry ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet ingredients
  • 1 cup cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon tablespoon orange zest
Vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round pan.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  3. Mix in orange juice, zest, and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and fold into wet mixture.
  4. Pour batter into pan and smooth top. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Use fresh orange zest for the best flavor.
