  • 6 cups sliced apples (about 6 medium apples)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Oats and Dry Mix
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix sliced apples with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Transfer apples to a greased baking dish.
  4. Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt; sprinkle over apples.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  6. Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with optional vanilla ice cream.
