Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) optional
Decoration
  • sprinkles or colored sugar for decoration

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix dry ingredients; set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugars; add eggs and vanilla. Combine with dry ingredients.
  3. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheets.
  4. Decorate with sprinkles if desired. Bake 8-10 minutes until golden.
  5. Cool cookies on racks before serving.

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let cool on the baking sheet.
