Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples (about 6 cups, peeled and sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ cup brown sugar (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup old-fashioned oats
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (cold, cut into cubes)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Toss sliced apples with lemon juice, half the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Pour into a greased dish.
  2. Mix flour, oats, remaining brown sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Spread crumble evenly over apples.
  4. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  5. Cool for 10–15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
